I fly out Sep 1. On Aug 31 I am going to http://www.internationalfriends.co.uk/stonehenge-salisbury-avebury-the-m... but on 27, 28, 29 and 30 I am free. I would love to have some lesser-known-London walking tours for example.

Brighton
If you fancy something different and the weather's nice then I'd be more than happy to show you a bit of Brighton. Vibrant web community but mostly markets and beach at the weekends.
35 mins on train from Croydon, 50 from central London.
That goes for anyone else around who wants to come visit too!

The tourist info on this site also shows some walking tours:

Bespoke London walks
If you know which kind of things in London you would like to see, try:
http://www.walks.com/London_Walks_Home/Private_Walks_/default.aspx#12772 - a bespoke guided walk could be arranged there.
http://www.walks.com have lots of potentially interesting walks. http://www.walks.com/London_Walks_Home/Wednesdays_Walks/default.aspx#12855 SHAKESPEARE'S & DICKENS' LONDON could be amazing - there are old houses, gardens and streets along the Thames which are full of character.
Tours cost £8 per person and you don't need to book.
There is another recommended site:
http://www.visitlondon.com/category/sightseeing/walking-tour but walks there are looking very generic.
