Sustainable content on Drupal.org
It's easy to create content, but it's not so easy to control it in an open source environment.
Out of control: Tagging, finding relevant content via search results, finding out how to contribute to Drupal, comments on documentation, ancient nodes buried away and crossposting on groups.drupal.org.
We're also afraid to delete things. A lot of new content that will be created in Showcase and Marketplace...yet existing content isn't being maintained very well. Clearly, not a sustainable situation.
We put the control in the hands of the community (and not run a core group of volunteers ragged!). Most of these ideas are currently in the issue queue, but lack momentum:
Begin collecting feedback on all nodes, which becomes a list that the community can act on.
Make it *much* easier for people to find content to work on; simple text improvements within a node shouldn't involve the webmaster issue queue cos it's self-defeating; we're just creating duplicate content that will come up in searches (on the other hand, if content fixes were sent to their own issue queue, that was hidden from search, that would be hot)
Focus on better search results through extra filtering on content created/updated years ago, as well as Drupal version
Enable documentation nodes to help people file an issue when they see a problem
Greater freedom to particular roles, when required
