Location of Venue to After Hours events...

Jun 28

I'm concerned on getting a hotel booked... already have flights/conference tickets, and usually wait on hotel for a while.

My fellow Drupal traveling companion and I tend to spend 3-4 extra days in town especially on the European DrupalCons...

Just as in CPH with the venue being "outside" the city in the 'burbs, all the recommended hotels were in the city within a straight shot on the train. This was great as the after hour events were all in Copenhagen proper and our extra days in the city, we were close to everything we wanted to see/do.

Is there any thought/idea yet on the after hours events for London and their location(s)?

I'd hate to be saying in Croydon, and have to tube in for every after hours event AND for our extra tourist days.

So would it be better (in my case) to stay in Central London, and deal with taking the tube TO the conference, or to stay in Croydon?

Thanks!

Croydon, if you are on a budget

Since the trains to central London run 24/7, its a toss up. You will definitely get more for your money at the Croydon hotels, and the official ones are in walking distance of the station.

There will be round-the-clock sprinting in Croydon, and they do have plenty of good pubs.

On the other hand, if you want posh, it might be hard to come by in Croydon.

There is, of course, nothing to prevent you from moving to a hotel that is closer to whatever you want to visit, after DrupalCon.
