Drupal Module Developer Challenge

The Drupal Module Developer Challenge sponsored by Tropo is a way to put some of the new skills you're learning at DrupalCon to the test. This contest requires you to conceive and create a finished Drupal module in 24 hours.

Entries will be judged by a panel of well-known Drupal developers and subject matter experts. The top three entries will have the chance to demo their creation on stage during a DrupalCon session and get live feedback from the panel of judges before a winner is crowned.

What's the contest theme?

The theme is "mobile" - anything that unlocks Drupal from the desktop.
It doesn't have to be an app for a mobile device or even mobile web. Feel free to think outside the box and do something with SMS, voice, or even make Drupal run on embedded systems.

Contest Format

To be eligible to win, your module will need to fit the contest theme.

Work on your own or join other developers in one of the DrupalCon Coder Lounges: the Ashcroft Room during conference hours or at the Jurys Inn (open 24 hours a day). Contest sponsor Tropo will be on hand in the coder lounge to answer questions and hand out goodies.

Modules will be judged on how well they fit the contest theme, completeness, user experience, code quality, and marketability.

Complete the entry form by 2:15pm Wednesday, August 24th to be eligible to win.

Demo Day

The top three entries will be invited to give a 5-minute demo of their module at a session Thursday, August 25th, 2:45 - 3:45pm. The judges will be on hand for the demos and the panel will provide feedback after each presentation.

The winners will be announced after the demos, with each of the top three winning a prize.
